If you haven't started hunting yet, it isn't too late.  The Late Night Stampers 2013 Fall Treasure Hunt is still going on until October 25, 2013.  Hunt through 50 of the blogs listed, collect clues and be entered for a chance to win over $150 (US Only) in Stampin' Up product of your choice.

I have lots of fun stuff planned for October.  I will be featuring my Stamp Set of the Month for October on October 1.  I will also start a new feature on Sundays where I will use a limited number of supplies and create cards and home décor items.  The theme for October will be Fall.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Just Crumb Cake & Black

I love using online color challenges as inspiration for cards.  They push me to combine colors that I wouldn't normally use together.  Here is this week's challenge at Dynamic Duos:

This card is very simple and yet interesting.  Normally I try to create my own texture on a card with stamping, dry or wet embossing, etc.  I have been pushing myself more to use designer series paper on my cards.  I love the colors in the various paper sets that Stampin' Up creates and I always order WAY more than I will ever use.  No more.  Similar to my card earlier this week, this card also uses Modern Medley DSP.

Hope you enjoy this card.  Feel free to leave a comment below.  Thanks for visiting.

All items Stampin' Up unless noted

Stamp: Flower Shop, A Dozen Thoughts
Paper:  Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Modern Medley DSP
Ink:  Basic Black

Modern Floral Medley

I was looking online for a little card inspiration and I found the following two sketches.  The first is from Tuesday Morning Sketches and the second is from Inkspirational:

I didn't really follow either sketch exactly.  I turned the card vertically.  The strips on my card are various sizes (on purpose - although I do have those days where nothing seems to cut right) in a black and vanilla palette.  The image is stamped on an oval and then colored with Stampin' Up Blender Pens.  Someday I will own the markers, but I love the blender pens because you can use them to create any color.

Hope you like my card.  Thanks for visiting.

All items Stampin' Up unless noted

Stamp: Best of Flowers, Pennant Builder (Sentiment)
Paper:  Basic Black, Rose Red, Very Vanilla, Modern Medley DSP
Ink:  Black StazOn, Rose Red, Garden Green

First Day of Fall

Today is officially the first day of Fall.  I love Fall in Wisconsin.  The weather turns a little cooler and the leaves begin to change colors.  I baked cookies and the scent filled the house.  I did get in a little card crafting today.  One of the first stamp sets I bought from Stampin' Up was Secret Garden.  The flowers seem obvious for Spring and Summer cards.  I decided to change things up a bit.  I chose a Crumb Cake card base and stamped the flower on Crumb Cake cardstock. I feel that it gives the card an autumn feel.  Colors like Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango are more muted.  The layers are distressed using Early Espresso.

Thanks for stopping by.  Don't forget to do a little Treasure Hunting for a chance to win more than $150 (US only) in Stampin' Up product.

LNS 2013 Fall Treasure Hunt Clue

Late Night Stampers
2013 Fall Treasure Hunt Clue

When I was growing up, my Mom sewed clothing and other items for our home.  We were told over and over – “Those are my fabric scissors, do not use them to cut paper!”  My first crafting experiences were sewing and later quilting.  I understand the importance of having the right tools for the materials you are using.  In paper crafting and card making we use a variety of materials to enhance our projects.  Having a good pair of scissors that you can dedicate for ribbon and other trims makes all the difference in getting a nice, clean cut.
Here is my clue – Craft Scissors
You can add my clue to your list.  To continue hunting, check out this link.

LNS 2013 Fall Treasure Hunt

WELCOME TO THE
LATE NIGHT STAMPERS
2013 FALL TREASURE HUNT

Thank you for visiting my blog and for participating in this fun event. By completing this challenge, you'll be entered to win Stampin' Up! products! Each participating region will award its own prize to a winner from that region. Demonstrators are still joining the hunt, and the US prize will be at least $150 for the winner to spend on a Stampin' Up! order! If you use the entire $150 on your products, you'll also qualify for hostess benefits!

HERE IS HOW TO PLAY TO WIN:
  • Visit the blogs of at least 50 of the Stampin' Up! demonstrators listed below. NOTE: Contest runs through Friday October 25, 2013, so you will have to check back for blog links that have been added. I will post each time I edit the list, so be sure to sign up to follow my blog and receive notifications of my new posts.
  • Look for the participating Treasure Hunt clue. All blogs will have the Stampin' Up!Treasure Hunt box (shown above) on it to verify they are a registered participant in the hunt.
  • Make a note of the clue and whose blog you found it on. You may have to look through the posts on the blogs to find the clue - each demo will post their clue where they choose - it is a Treasure HUNT after all!
  • Once you've collected 50 clues, email the list of blogs and corresponding clues to me at ctechlin2@new.rr.com. You must have the clue and the blog you found it on to have each answer qualify.
  • You have from Tuesday, August 20 through Friday, October 25, 2013 to collect your 50 clues and email them to me to be entered into the contest.
  • Hunt closes and all entries must be received by October 25, 2013 at midnight PST.
  • Winners will be announced and posted here on Monday, October 28, 2013. One prize winner will be chosen from each participating country.
