DOstamper STARS Challenge #079

It's Thursday again - and almost the end of April - where has the month gone?  Time for a great Sketch Pad challenge from the DOstamper STARS.

For today's card I am again featuring the I Am Me Designer Series Paper.  The color inspiration for the card came from that paper as well .  I love the way Real Red, So Saffron and Basic Gray look together.

I used the Geometrical stamp set from the Occasions Catalog to stamp the triangles.  I then punched out the triangles using the Triangle Punch.  I slightly overlapped the triangles to create my "trim".

The bicycle image is from the Timeless Talk Stamp Set.  I think that image paired with these colors is very gender neutral.  I finished my card with two banners cut with the Banner Punch that was available during Sale-a-Bration.  If you didn't get one then, no worries, it will be in the upcoming 2014-15 catalog.

Six Sided Challenge Miss

Each Thursday, my fabulous upline Dawn Olchefske hosts a challenge on her blog.  Members of her DOstamper STARS are allowed to participate by creating cards/projects and then we host a mini blog hop.

I had a couple ideas for this week's Color My World Challenge.  I thought I would share with you another card I made that uses the same ink colors.

I think it is the quilter in me that really likes the Six Sided Sampler stamp set and coordinating Hexagon Punch.  I used the same greeting as my original card placed at the top of the card.

Here is the link to my original card.  Let me know which one you like better.

Thanks for stopping by today.

DOstamper STARS Challenge #078

Time for another DOstamper STARS Thursday Challenge.  Today it is a Color My World challenge.

The colors for today's challenge are soft and sweet.  I was looking through my Stampin' Up Designer Series Paper and found this Pool Party sheet in the I Am Me paper pack.  The scallops in the paper looks great with the scallops in the cupcakes.  I stamped the greeting on Whisper White punched with the Modern Label punch.  I punched a second label using Wisteria Wonder, cut it in half and then layered it behind the white.

I will be featuring the I Am Me DSP in my next few challenge posts.  I think this Designer Series Paper is definitely worth checking out.  The scale of a lot of the prints make them great for card making, yet there are some bolder images if you enjoy scrapbooking.

I hope you like my card.  Thanks for stopping by.

DOstamper STARS Challenge #077

Hooray for Thursday.  Time for another DOstamper STARS Challenge.  This week is a Home Sweet Home Challenge.  This patio furniture looks like it is some place warm near a beach.  Wish I was there!  It is slowly starting to get warmer here in Wisconsin - slowly...

I was very inspired by the square shape of the pillows and the nautical theme.  I immediately thought of the By the Tide stamp set when I was this photo.

This is my third card featuring the Hardwood background stamp.  This version has a more weathered look stamped on Natural White card stock distressed with Early Espresso ink.

Thanks for visiting today.  Be sure to visit my fellow STARS for more inspiration.

DOstamper STARS Challenge #076

It is Thursday again.  Time for another DOstamper STARS Challenge.  This week we have a Sketch Pad challenge.

I am just loving the Hardwood background stamp (I might have said that last week too).  This week's card definitely has more of a masculine feel with the brown and green colors as well as the goose image from the Wetlands stamp set.

Some of the elements of my card are slightly different than the sketch.  For example, I didn't want the goose looking off my card, so I moved the circle to the left side.  I think it still captures the essence of the sketch.
