Home Sweet Home STARS Challenge

This week is a photo DOstamper STARS Thursday Challenge.

I found a lot of inspiration from this photo.  The rose stamp from Best of Flowers seemed perfect.  I colored the flowers using Primrose Petals and Gumball Green ink and the Stampin' Up Blender Pen.  To create the look of a doily, I stamped one of the images from the Lacy & Lovely stamp set with matching ink on the Primrose Petals card base. The love sentiment, ribbon and some jewel rhinestones complete the card.

Check out my fellow STARS' creations:
And our fearless leader:  Dawn Olchefske

Modern Floral Medley

I was looking online for a little card inspiration and I found the following two sketches.  The first is from Tuesday Morning Sketches and the second is from Inkspirational:

I didn't really follow either sketch exactly.  I turned the card vertically.  The strips on my card are various sizes (on purpose - although I do have those days where nothing seems to cut right) in a black and vanilla palette.  The image is stamped on an oval and then colored with Stampin' Up Blender Pens.  Someday I will own the markers, but I love the blender pens because you can use them to create any color.

Hope you like my card.  Thanks for visiting.

Thanks for the Challenge

The last challenge was so much fun, I thought I would try it again.  For today's card I again combined a sketch challenge with a color challenge.  It takes a lot of the guesswork out of choosing elements for cards to start with these challenges.  The sketch is from Paper Pals Arts and the color inspiration came from Color Throwdown:

I turned the card vertically and replaced one of the rectangles with an oval.  I think it still captures the essence of the challenge.  I love the way the black embossing powder really defined the design of the flower.  I colored the flower using Stampin' Up's blender pens.  The pearls complete the overall look.  Hope you like it.
