Home Sweet Home Bling

Hello.  Welcome to another DOstamper STARS Thursday Challenge.  This week is a Home Sweet Home challenge.  Isn't this a great necklace?  I love the floral design.  Of course, that is the inspiration for my card this week.

I used the Flower Shop stamp set stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  The first time I saw a demonstration of heat embossing was with gold embossing powder.  It is still amazing to watch the powder melt into sparkling gold.

I punched the Brushed Gold tag using the Tag Topper Scalloped Punch.  The sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts is heat embossed on vellum and layered under the Whisper White Organza Ribbon bow.

Thanks for stopping by.  Check out my fellow STARS for more inspiration.

Thursday Challenge Card

Today is Thursday.  That means it is time for another DOstamper STARS Challenge.  Today is a photo-inspired Home Sweet Home challenge.

I had a little trouble getting started with this one, so I used the sketch at Mojo Monday.

I love the color palette in the photo.  I chose the DSP from the Gingham Garden collection.  I paired that with three flowers – two from the Petite Petals stamp set and the large flower is from the Flower Shop stamp set.  These were punched with their coordinating punches.  The sentiment is from Thanks and Hello.

Thanks for visiting today.

Visit my fellow STARS for more inspiration.

Gingham Garden Card Set

I am always on the hunt to find ways to make quick and easy cards using Designer Series Paper.  I recently came across this tutorial on Colorado Moms and knew I could add my own spin to it.

This pattern is great because you start with one sheet of 12 x 12 paper as the primary focus.  You then add 3 complimentary pattern papers and some cardstock.  The tutorial has all the dimensions for cutting your cardstock and pattern paper.

I used the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up.  The sentiments are from the Lacy & Lovely Stamp Set.  The other embellishments are from Papillion Potourri & Flower Shop cut with their coordinating punches.  Here are my cards.  The numbers coordinate with the tutorial.

Cards 1 & 2

Cards 3 & 4

Cards 5 & 6

Cards 7 & 8

Cards 9 & 10

Cards 11 & 12

Just Crumb Cake & Black

I love using online color challenges as inspiration for cards.  They push me to combine colors that I wouldn't normally use together.  Here is this week's challenge at Dynamic Duos:

This card is very simple and yet interesting.  Normally I try to create my own texture on a card with stamping, dry or wet embossing, etc.  I have been pushing myself more to use designer series paper on my cards.  I love the colors in the various paper sets that Stampin' Up creates and I always order WAY more than I will ever use.  No more.  Similar to my card earlier this week, this card also uses Modern Medley DSP.

Hope you enjoy this card.  Feel free to leave a comment below.  Thanks for visiting.

Black and White and Red All Over

Today's card is based on this week's sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches:

I really like the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up.  The Basic Black and Very Vanilla colors work great together or allow you to add a pop of color.  For this card I chose Cherry Cobbler.
