DOstamper STARS #096

Hello.  Welcome back to another DOstamper STARS Thursday Challenge.  Today we are featuring a Color My World Challenge.

Crushed Curry is one of those colors that I want to love, but am still not sure about.  The only 2 sheets of Crushed Curry cardstock I own were in a pack of Regals 8 1/2 x 11 Cardstock that I bought about a year ago when I became a demonstrator.  I like that is it a deeper yellow color, but it is just a bit brighter than I prefer. Today's card didn't really make a dent in my supply :)

Here is my card for today.  It is not a new layout, but this is my take on it.  The word bubbles and sentiments are from the Just Sayin' stamp set.  I stamped the images using Stazon Jet Black ink.  I cut the Real Red and Crushed Curry images with the matching framelits.

The paper is from the Flashback DSP collection.  It some great patterns and images.  Hope you like my card for today.  Thanks for stopping by.  Check out my fellow STARS:

    Hey!

Just stopping by with a quick card share.  It is based on the sketch challenge at the Creative Card Challenge.

I changed up the sketch a bit.  The orientation of my card is portrait.  The sentiment is stamped in a circle vs. an oval.  I think it still captures the essence of the sketch.  After choosing one focal paper for the background, the rest of the elements on the card can be created using scraps.  In fact, the Hello Honey banner was a piece I got from cutting down the Lost Lagoon triangle paper.  Perfect.

This would be a great card to send a quick hello to anyone.

Hope you like my card.  Thanks for stopping by.

    End of August already?!?

For my card share today I am featuring a card based on this fabulous fall photo from Better Homes and Gardens.  And yes, it is for the DOstamper STARS Thursday Challenge.  Of course today isn't Thursday - not really sure what happened to the past few days (weeks - yikes)!

Last Sunday, I don't think the high in Green Bay, WI even hit 70 degrees.  The normal high for this time of the year should be at least 10 degrees warmer.  My husband I and took the kids for a bike ride and with the breeze, I was wishing I had something to cover my ears.  And, yes, it felt like fall to me.  I love autumn.  I love the way the leaves change color and there is a crispness in the air - however, not in August.

Anyway, here is my card.  I used a lot of the elements in the photo.  I stamped the Lost Lagoon background layer with the World Map stamp.  Then I dusted off my Truly Grateful stamp set (haven't used it since last fall and was so happy it was carried over to the 2014-15 annual catalog).  The images are stamped with Sahara Sand, Hello Honey and Cajun Craze.

I added some Early Espresso Baker's Twine and some of the Neutrals Candy Dots.  That completes my card for today.

Thanks for stopping by.  Visit my fellow STARS for my more inspiration.
