DOstamper STARS #092

Happy Thursday this last day of July 2014.  This week is a Home Sweet Home challenge featuring this lovely bedroom grouping from Beach House Linens.

When I first saw this photo, I thought beach, seashells, ocean theme.  Well, that was just not happening for me this week.  Then I switched to a color inspiration and this is the card I came up with.  I combined Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight.  I used the Bloom For You flower stamp (with coordinating punches) and the Work of Art stamp set for the stripes and sentiment.

I cut the tag using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and added a bow tied with Melon Mambo 1/4" Taffeta Ribbon and Crushed Curry Baker's Twine (I know - not Daffodil Delight, but close enough for me).

Hope you enjoyed my card for today.  Thanks for stopping by.

All Things Nautical

Hello stampers.  Welcome to my blog.  Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Seize the Sketch.

This card combines elements from 3 different stamp sets that all have a nautical/sea theme - By the Tide, Wetlands and The Open Sea.  I chose a palette of browns (Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip and Early Espresso), which wasn't really my intent - it just worked out that way.

On the lower Crumb Cake panel, I used the Hardwood (luv it!) background stamp inked with Chocolate Chip ink.  I have tried using many different combinations of papers and ink with that stamp and they all look great.

Hope you have enjoyed this card.  Thanks for stopping by.

By the Soft Sky Tide

Hello.  For my card share today, I am using the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches

I can't believe it is the end of July already.  It feels like summer just started here in Wisconsin, but I am already thinking about the kids going back to school and the start of autumn.  My card features the By the Tide stamp set from Stampin' Up.  The images are beach/sea related.  Stamping these great images can make summer last all year long.

I paired Soft Sky with Early Espresso cardstock - I love that combination.  The images are stamped in Chocolate Chip and Soft Sky ink.

I didn't quite follow the sketch, but I love the way this card turned out.  Hope you like my card.  Thanks for stopping by.

Sketch Pad Zoo - DSC #091

Happy Thursday!!  Time for another DOstamper STARS Challenge.  Today we have a Sketch Pad challenge.

I used the Flashback DSP for my color inspiration.  I really like that DSP collection.  I especially like the Vanilla/Black grid sheets - just the right scale for cardmaking.

When I saw this sketch, I immediately thought of the Zoo Babies stamp set.  I stamped several of the animals on various sized circles.  I offset the stamped images on their layering circles punched from coordinating colored cardstock.

Hope you like my card.  Thanks for stopping by.  Visit my fellow STARS for more inspiration

Birthday Wishes

Hello.  Thanks for stopping by.  My card today is inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  I love the elements of this sketch - the circle, the banners.  This will definitely be a "go to" sketch for me when I need a little kick start to my creative mojo.
I used the Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set for my card below.  I love the versatility of the greetings - they can be combined in so many way.  The background paper is from the Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper pack.

I added some rhinestones to the tops of the candles to add a little bling to my card.

Hope you like my card.

Blog Post #100 - Stars

Hello.  Today is my 100th Blog Post - Hooray!!  I am happy to share a fun card that was inspired by this sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments.

I have been sharing some of the Designer Series Paper that is in the 2014-15 Stampin' Up Catalog. Today I am featuring the Maritime DSP.  My card is a fairly literal interpretation of the sketch. I used the paper with the constellation images and combined that with even more stars from the Be the Star stamp set and coordinating framelits.

The banners are cut from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack in Daffodil Delight.

Thanks for stopping by.

Park Lane Thanks

Happy Tuesday.  Back with another fun card.  For my card today I am using the sketch from the Fab Friday Challenge Blog.

This card features the Park Lane Designer Series Paper pack from the 2014-15 Stampin' Up Catalog.  Stampin' Up has a sale on DSP during the month of July.  Buy 3 packs of DSP and the 4th pack is free.  Definitely the time to stock up on your favorites.

I am using two of the new 2014-16 In Colors - Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey.  It is a little hard to see in the photo, but the background paper has small Hello Honey dots throughout. The flower is from the stamp set - Bloom For You.  This is a single stamp that coordinates with 3 of our punches.  That's right - I didn't fussy cut any of the floral image - it was punched out.

The sentiment is stamped from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set and cut with the coordinating framelits.  Hope you have enjoyed my card.  Thanks for visiting.

Flashback Smiles

Hello.  Just stopping in with a quick card today.  I was inspired by the sketch below from Seize the Sketch.

Stampin' Up is featuring a fabulous Designer Series Paper sale during the month of July.  If you buy 3 packs of DSP, the fourth is FREE!!  How great is that?  I just got my box of new stuff last week and had a chance to play with it this weekend.  I will be featuring some of the current DSP over my next few blog posts.  Today I am featuring Flashback DSP.

I didn't really think I would use the sheet with the camera images (the reverse side is the black and vanilla grid paper in the background), but this sentiment from Jillibean Soup seemed fitting with the cameras.

Hope you have enjoyed my card.  Thanks for stopping by.

Stamps: What's Up, Handwritten Sentiments (Jillibean Soup)

DOstamper STARS Challenge #090

Welcome back to another DOstamper STARS Thursday Challenge.  This week is a Color My World Challenge.

Ok.  I didn't exactly follow the colors in the challenge.  Instead of Coastal Cabana, I chose a slightly darker Bermuda Bay.  Then on the yellow side, I chose Daffodil Delight instead of Crushed Curry.  Either way, I think I am in the spirit of the challenge and it is all for fun anyway.

For my card, I made an uneven gate folding card.  I stamped three balloons using the Sketched Birthday stamp set on Whisper White cardstock.  I placed two squares on the left panel and the center square on the right panel.

What a fun, gender neutral birthday card.  Thanks for stopping by.

Calypso Dahlia

Hope you are having a great holiday weekend.  I had a chance to play with some of my stamping goodies this weekend.  This card is based on The Challenge #10 sketch.
Lesley also had a color challenge option this week.  I did start by pulling out the colors, but I stopped after kraft and coral.  I combined Stampin' Up Crumb Cake and Calypso Coral and really liked the combination.

The image and sentiment are from the Regarding Dahlias stamp set.  I replaced the banner element in the sketch with a tag punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  I wrapped some retired Calypso Coral 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon through the tag opening.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you enjoy my card.

Happy Independence Day!!

Hooray for today - it is the Fourth of July.

I am sure by now you have seen these Paper Pumpkin Pinwheels all over the web.  These were from the June kit.  It included the supplies to make 24 of these fabulous pinwheels.

For my arrangement, I made 3 pinwheels using 1of each double-sided patterned paper from the kit.  For the lower pinwheels, I cut them 1/2" smaller on each side before assembling them.  They seemed to fit in my jar better that way.  I then took the 1/2" strips and wrapped them around a pencil to make some paper spirals to add to the jar.

The kit comes with a Night of Navy Ink Spot.  I stamped the star image on one of the banners from the kit, folded it in half and added one of paper clips.  For the word "celebrate", I stamped the image using Cherry Cobbler.  I then wound Gray Baker's Twine around the top of the jar and clipped on my banners.

I hope you have a safe and happy Fourth of July.

Home Sweet Home DSC #089

Happy Thursday.  Welcome to my blog.  Today is another Home Sweet Home challenge with the DOstamper STARS.

I was inspired by the color palette and some of the images in this fabulous photo.  I used the Hardwood background stamp on the Garden Green layer to create my base.

I liked the way the drop cloth had spots of color and that is what inspired my stamping.  I used the smallest images from the Mixed Bunch stamp set and stamped them in Real Red, Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight.  The greeting is from the Geometrical stamp set.

Tomorrow is Independence Day in the United States.  Hope you have a safe and happy holiday.  Thanks for stopping by.
