DOstamper STARS #100 and Blog Candy!!

Hello.  Welcome to another Thursday DOstamper STARS Challenge.  This is Challenge #100!!  Hooray!!  And on top of that, I have some blog candy to give away.  We are featuring a sketch challenge this week.

Here is my first Christmas card of the year:

I thought I would try using a fun fold for this special challenge.  I am using the Double Dutch Fold.  It is actually a lot easier than it looks.  Here are the instructions for the card base:

1.  Cut two pieces measuing 4 3/16" x 9" and 2" x 8 1/2"
2.  Score the first piece at 5 1/2".  Score the second piece at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8".
3.  Layer the first piece over the second piece.  Adhere the pieces together on the backside.
4.  Embellish!
5.  Here is a link if you need more help:  http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/doubledutchfold/

I actually made the card base in the first Step 4 3/16" (that is just less than 4 1/4") x 9 1/2".  This allowed me to use the Scallop Edge Border Punch.

Here is the card with the top panel open:

    DOstamper STARS #099

Happy Thursday.  Welcome to another DOstamper STARS Challenge.  Today we are featuring a  Color My World challenge.  These colors are perfect for autumn.  I love how these 2014-16 in-colors can be combined in so many ways.

I finally got the Kinda Eclectic stamp set and just had to play with it.  The layout for my card isn't new, but it is new to me.  I think I first saw a version of this card during the Stampin' Up Annual Event in July.  This really is a great stamp set for layering and creating a collage effect.

Hope you like my card today.  Thanks for stopping by!!  Stop by my fellow STARS for more inspiration.

    DOstamper STARS #098

Hello. Welcome to another DOstamper STARS Thursday challenge.  Today is September 11.  It is the anniversary of the worst terrorist attack on American soil and is a good time to remember those we lost on that day as well as all who serve to defend and protect our freedom.

This image is from Eye Candy Creative Studio.  Here is a link to a free Memory of 911 subway art template:

I have chosen to create 2 thank you cards today.  These would be perfect to send to a hero serving overseas as well as those local heros who are the first to respond on a daily basis.

My cards today feature pieces from the recent Paper Pumpkin (PP) kits.  The first card is using DSP from the June Pinwheel PP kit.  I cut the pinwheels apart and pieced the triangles back together to form a square.  The star is cut from Smoky Slate cardstock using the Stars Framelits.

The sentiment is from the July Wish Big PP kit.

The second card is from the August Seriously Amazing PP kit.  I changed up the background DSP to the small red square pattern from the Maritime DPS collection.  The other paper is an extra piece I had from cutting down the pinwheels for Card One.  I embossed the die cut layer using the Lucky Stars TIEF.

I hope you enjoyed these cards today.  Stop by my fellow STARS for more inspiration.

    DOstamper STARS #097

Back again for a card share.  Today I am featuring my card for the Thursday DOstamper STARS challenge.

Here is my card.  I didn't realize it when I was making my card, but it looks like I not only used the sketch for my layout, but also for the colors of my card.  I love the Confetti Celebration DSP.  It has some really great images and the scale is perfect for card making.  I used my 1 3/4" circle punch for round elements of the sketch.  The sentiment is from a Dozen Thoughts - a great all-around greeting set.

I snuck in a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels to complete my card.

Hope you like my card for today.  Thanks for stopping by.  Visit my fellow STARS for more inspiration.
