Home Sweet Home DSC #089

Happy Thursday.  Welcome to my blog.  Today is another Home Sweet Home challenge with the DOstamper STARS.

I was inspired by the color palette and some of the images in this fabulous photo.  I used the Hardwood background stamp on the Garden Green layer to create my base.

I liked the way the drop cloth had spots of color and that is what inspired my stamping.  I used the smallest images from the Mixed Bunch stamp set and stamped them in Real Red, Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight.  The greeting is from the Geometrical stamp set.

Tomorrow is Independence Day in the United States.  Hope you have a safe and happy holiday.  Thanks for stopping by.

    Color My World Happy

Greetings.  Welcome to this week's DOstamper STARS challenge.  This week we are playing with color.  These colors seemed so bright and cheerful, I thought a happy card was in order.

I used strips of paper from the Polka Dot Parade DSP collection to create my banners.  This DSP is now retired, but the Brights Background DSP Stack would be a good alternative.

The flower is from the Mixed Bunch stamp set.  I stamped the image with Jet Black Stazon on Whisper White cardstock and then punched it out using the Blossom Punch.  I added a Daffodil Delight candy dot to the center.

Hopefully this card brought a smile to your face.  Visit my fellow STARS for more inspiration.

    DOstamper STARS Challenge #068

Hooray - it is Thursday, time for another DOstamper STARS Challenge.  This week cannot go fast enough for me.  I am so glad it is Thursday!  This week is a photo inspiration challenge called Home Sweet Home.
I really like this photo.  I like the colors and the floral images.  For my card, I used the Five Way Flower stamp with Tangerine Tango, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight ink.  I can't take any credit for the card layout.  I saw this layout done by Brandy Cox on You Tube last year.

I stamped the flower three times in each color on Whisper White cardstock.  This stamp is designed to work with the Stampin' Up Scallop Circle punches.  I punched one flower in each color using the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle, the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle and the 1 1/4" Scallop Circle.  I then layered each flower using one of each color.  I topped them off with a Basic Black Candy Dot.

Here are links to my fellow STARS' cards:

    Getting Ready for the Holidays

I am starting a new series of posts today featuring Stampin' Up product that you can use to get ready for the holidays.

The first post features some holiday ornaments created with the Gift Bow Bigz L Dies.

The ornament may look familiar to you.  It is the actually the same construction as the small pumpkin from a couple weeks ago.  See the Truly Grateful Pumpkins post.  I have replaced the stem with a Candy Dots Brad Base blinged out with a large Basic Jewel Rhinestone and Silver 1/8" ribbon as a hanger.

The angel is very sweet and easy to construct.   I cut 2 Small bow loops and 2 bow tails from Pool Party.  I then stamped the pieces using the Mixed Bunch stamp set with Island Indigo ink.  The halo is punched from Silver Foil Sheet using the 1 3/4" and the 1 1/4" circle punches.  The face is punched from Pink Pirouette using the 1 1/4" circle.  The center piece is Island Indigo cardstock punched with the 7/8" scallop circle and layered with a Frosted Finishes embellishment.

My upline, Dawn Olchefske has a video on her website featuring this project.  Check it out:  Stampin' Up Gift Bow Die Angel

    Elegant Thank You

When I saw the photo challenge at Stampin' Royalty, I was so inspired.  The colors are so crisp, clean and modern.  Of course, I needed to find a fitting sketch to go along with the color.  The sketch was featured this week on Mojo Monday.

I had a lot of fun putting this card together.  I used one of the small stamps from the Mixed Bunch stamp set to add texture to the Smoky Slate vertical element.  The flower was stamped from the same stamp set in Daffodil Delight which coordinates with the ribbon.  The white was embossed with the Modern Wallpaper embossing folder from Provo Craft.

    Pool Party Smiles

Here it is - the middle of the week already.  I can’t believe it is Wednesday.  I can remember when I was younger my grandmother told me that time goes faster as you get older.  I thought that seemed crazy, but I completely understand now.

When I saw the colors in this week’s challenge at the Paper Players I was intrigued.  There is no way I would have matched Pool Party with Rich Razzleberry.  It took a big of experimenting, but I found something that I thought looked nice.  Then I switched the Razzleberry and Pool Party around.  Not sure which one I like better.  Leave me a comment and let me know.  The layout is based on the sketch at MojoMonday.
