DOstamper STARS - #105 - Tent Fold Card

Happy Thursday.  Time again for another DOstamper STARS Challenge.  This week we have a Color My World challenge.

Today I featuring these cute pumpkins just in time for Halloween.  How can it be the end of October already?  We are getting ready for trick-or-treating at my house.  My 6 year old son is going to dress up as Batman and my 4 year old son will be Spiderman.  They are too excited.

Today's card is made using the Tent Fold technique.  Here are the measurements for making this card base.

1.  Start with a card base cut 4 1/4" x 8 1/2"
2.  Score at 4 1/4"
3.  Fold in half on the score line.
4.  Cut a second piece measuring 3 1/4" x 4 1/2".
5.  Using the piece cut in Step 4, apply adhesive to the lower half of the layer attach to the card base.  Tip:  When adhering this layer to the card base, check that the overall height of the card does not exceed 5 1/2".  This will allow the card to fit in a standard envelope.

I cut out the small pumpkin using the Fun Fall Framelits and embossed the Bermuda Bay layer using the Polka Dots TIEF.

    One Sheet Wonder Series - Cards G & H

Hello!!  Welcome to my Saturday card series.  This week marks the half way point in my One Sheet Wonder series.  Never heard of a One Sheet Wonder?  Well, you start with one sheet of Designer Series Paper and make multiple cards quickly and easily.  I wanted to take that one step further and combine that with fun folds making the cards even more interesting.

I have done all the measuring for you and have prepared cutting diagrams to help you get the most from your cardstock and DSP.  If you want to work ahead, you can cut the cardstock and DSP and label them with the letter on the diagram.  Then sort them by letter so you have all the pieces you need for assembling each card.  I also have some general directions for all cards as well as specific directions for each card - including the folding technique.

Here are the cards for this week:

Card G - Standard Side Fold
    Card base:

    1.  Start with a card base cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
    2.  Score at 4 1/4"
    3.  Fold in half on the score line.
    4.  Embellish!

    Card H - Z-Fold Card

    Card base:

    1.  Start with a card base cut 4 1/4" x 11"
    2.  Score at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2"
    3.  Fold on both score lines.  See photos.
    4.  Cut a second piece of cardstock measuring 3 1/2" x 4 1/4".
    5.  Using the piece cut in Step 4, adhere to card base.  Apply adhesive to half of the layer and attach to card base.  Tip:  Do not apply adhesive to entire top layer and that will adhere the card closed.

    DOstamper STARS - #104

Welcome back to another Thursday DOstamper STARS Challenge.  This week we are working with the photo-inspired Home Sweet Home Challenge.

I love the colors and feel of this photo.  It definitely feels like fall here in Wisconsin.  The leaves are changing colors and the cool, crisp air just makes you want to cuddle up in a blanket.

I am using our Naturals White cardstock for the background of this card.  The stamping is done using the For All Things stamp set.  I combined that with the Color Me Autumn Washi Tape for the layout of this card.

I stamped another version of this card using Blackberry Bliss.  For this card I changed the orientation from landscape to portrait.

Here they are together.  Leave me a comment below and let me know if you like the Cajun Craze or Blackberry Bliss version better.

DOstamper STARS #103 - Joy Fold Card

Hello.  Welcome to another DOstamper STARS Challenge.  This week is a Sketch Pad challenge.

Two weeks ago, I started a Saturday card series featuring a One Sheet Wonder template that I created, combined with fun folds, to create 15 different cards.  If you have not seen it yet, check out this link.  One of the folding techniques is the Joy Fold card.  This fold is easier than its look and adds such as an impact to your card.

    Here are the folding instructions:
    1. Cut card base to 4 1/4" x 8 1/2"
    2. Score:  5 1/2"
    3. Cut second pieces of card stock to 3" x 8"
    4. Score:  4"
    5. Adhere 4" x 5 1/4" piece of DSP to inside of card.
    6. Add adhesive to the back of the smaller card base and adhere to the main card base.  Make sure the fold of the smaller card is opening to the right.
    7. See tutorial if you need more information:

Hope you will try this technique.  Visit my fellow STARS for more inspiration.

    One Sheet Wonder Series - Cards C & D

Welcome back to my Saturday Card Series.  I am currently featuring a One Sheet Wonder template that I created to work with 10 different folding techniques.  How fun is that?  My original cards featured the Park Lane DSP from the Stampin' Up! 2014-15 Annual Catalog.  Here is the link to that post.  Today, I am showing you a variation that is more masculine.   The cutting and folding instructions are the same.  These cards feature the hexagon pattern from Confetti Celebration combined with Tangelo Twist and Basic Gray.

I changed up the embellishments a bit (no bows for the guys).  I used the Whisper White cotton ribbon and just tied a simple knot in the ribbon before it was adhered to the card layer.  Some cards feature the Basic Gray Bakers Twine, Silver Buttons and/or the Essentials Hardware Clips from Stampin' Up!.  Here are the cards from last week in this color way:

Cards A&B - Gate Fold and Standard Side Fold

This week, I am again featuring a Standard Side Fold Card as well as an Easel Card.

Card C - Standard Side Fold

    Card base:

    1.  Start with a card base cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
    2.  Score at 4 1/4"
    3.  Fold in half on the score line.
    4.  Embellish!

    Card D - Easel Card

    Card base:

    1.  Start with a card base cut 4 1/4" x 11"
    2.  Score at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2"
    3.  Fold on both score lines.  See photos.
    4.  Add a sentiment/layer to the inside of the card using dimensional adhesive. This is what holds the easel in place when open.

I hope you are enjoying this series.  Stop back again next Saturday for more great cards.

All items Stampin' Up unless noted.

    DOstamper STARS #102

Happy Thursday.  Welcome to another DOstamper STARS challenge.  This week is a Color My World challenge.

I have to admit, I really had to think about how to use these colors. I do love them all (especially Blackberry Bliss), but how to use them together?  Here is what I came up with.  I recently purchased the Another Thank You stamp set and wanted to try the largest "thank you".  I love the way it looks in Blackberry Bliss.

The swirls from the Everything Eleanor stamp set were stamped in Old Olive.  I stamped them twice, with most of the image off the page.  I love how the swirl looks with the sentiment.  I added three Petite Petal flowers stamped in Island Indigo.  The centers are accented with rhinestones.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Find even more inspiration from my fellow STARS.

    One Sheet Wonder Series - Cards A & B

Hello!  Happy Saturday and Happy World Cardmaking Day!!  Today is the first post for my new Saturday card series.  The idea for this card series is based on the One Sheet Wonder idea.  Never heard of a One Sheet Wonder?  Well, you start with one sheet of Designer Series Paper and make multiple cards quickly and easily.  I wanted to take that one step further and combine that with fun folds making the cards even more interesting.  Over the next 7 weeks, we are going to make 15 different cards using 10 different folding techniques.  I tried to make the folds simple enough that you just need a paper trimmer and score board (only one uses some circle punches, but can be easily adapted if you don't have those punches).

These cards are going to feature the Park Lane Designer Series Paper from the 2014-15 Annual Catalog.  My focal paper is the floral paper.  I did add a second sheet of paper of DSP from that pack to coordinate.  The card bases are Sahara Sand cardstock.

    Here are first two cards:

Card A - Gate Fold Card

    Card base:

    1.  Start with a card base cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
    2.  Score at 2 3/4" and 7"
    3.  Fold on the score lines toward the center.
    4.  Add DSP.
    5.  Arrange two coordinating sentiments vertically over the seam of the gate fold.  Place dimensional adhesive on the left side of the top sentiment and the right side of the bottom sentiment.  Adhere to card.

Card B - Standard Side Fold

    Card base:

    1.  Start with a card base cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
    2.  Score at 4 1/4"
    3.  Fold in half on the score line.
    4.  Embellish!

Click on the links above to get the cutting diagrams and instructions for Cards A and B.  I am so excited about this series and I hope you are too.  As the weeks go on, I will also show you the same cards done in different colors.

Here are links to other cards in this series:
    Cards C & D
    Cards E & F
    Cards G & H
    Cards I & O
    Cards J & K
    Cards L, M & N

All items Stampin' Up unless noted.

    Stamps:  Something to Say
Paper:  Park Lane DSP, Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede
    Ink:  Soft Suede
Other:  Daffodil Delight 1/4" Cotton Ribbon, Whisper White Bakers Twine, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Neutrals Candy Dots
