In With the New

Happy Thursday!!  It is time for another DOstamper STARS Challenge.  This week we have a Sketch Pad challenge.  After saying good-bye to Midnight Muse last week, this week I am previewing one of the new Stampin' Up In Colors for 2014-2016 - Blackberry Bliss.

Blackberry Bliss is a true, rich purple color.  I think it is a very elegant color.  I stamped the large flower from the Polka Dot Pieces stamp set in Blackberry Bliss.  The sentiment is from the (retiring) Lacy & Lovely stamp set.

This card also features the new Moonlight Designer Series Paper and Blackberry Bliss 3/8" Satin Stitched Ribbon.

Polka Dot Thank You

When I saw the sketch at Retro Sketches this week I knew exactly what I was going to make.  Then life got in the way and here it is Friday night, but I did it.  I made my card.  Here is the sketch.

I had the idea to create a tri-fold card using the triangular side as one of the folded elements.  I turned the card vertically.  I used the arrow paper clip to hold the flap closed until the recipient opens the card to find a message inside.

It turned out just like I hoped.  Hope you enjoy this card.  Thanks for visiting.

Pool Party Smiles

Here it is - the middle of the week already.  I can’t believe it is Wednesday.  I can remember when I was younger my grandmother told me that time goes faster as you get older.  I thought that seemed crazy, but I completely understand now.

When I saw the colors in this week’s challenge at the Paper Players I was intrigued.  There is no way I would have matched Pool Party with Rich Razzleberry.  It took a big of experimenting, but I found something that I thought looked nice.  Then I switched the Razzleberry and Pool Party around.  Not sure which one I like better.  Leave me a comment and let me know.  The layout is based on the sketch at MojoMonday.
